The Indian team must have disappoints the cricket enthusiasts by losing the Asia Cup 2012 match against Bangladesh. Despite of beating Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the team was knocked out of the Asia Cup final due to only defeat throughout the tournaments. Some of the Indian players make their fans happy by achieving individual milestone. But the fans waiting eagerly to watch the fifth season of the Indian Premiere League (IPL) can watch the Indian team playing one off twenty20 match against South Africa scheduled to for 30th March at the Wanderers.

Both India and South Africa played a twenty20 match in Durban last year to honor the retired South Africa fast bowler Makhaya Ntini. Bangladesh created history by beating Sri Lanka in the last league match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2012 tournament. The hosts will play their maiden Asia Cup final on Thursday. The outcome of the match also resulted in knocking out India out of the series. Both the team level on points, but the earlier victory of Bangladesh against India sealed the fate of the hosts.

The Bangladeshi bowlers captured wickets at regular intervals and restricted Sri Lanka to 233 runs. But the rain delayed their run chase. The targets was also modified to 212 runs that the hosts were expected to score in reduced 40 overs. The half centuries scored by Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan help the team in achieving the target in the 38th over.

However, the hosts struggled during the initial overs by losing early wickets. But the Bangladeshi middle order batsmen successfully withstood the pressure and impressed their home crowd. The campaign of the hosts was started with a defeat against Pakistan. However, the team bounced back into the tournament by beating both India and Sri Lanka during the subsequent league matches.

At the same time, Pakistan comfortably reached the Asia Cup 2012 fianl by beating both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. But the team was thrashed by the Indian team with the impressive 183 runs scored by Virat Kohli. So both Pakistan and Bangladesh have enjoyed their share of victories as well as loses. So every cricket enthusiasts will eagerly look forward to the final to be played between these two countries on Thursday.

On Sunday, Indian cricket team proved its supremacy by chasing the 330 run target set by Pakistan. The bowlers might have failed to control the Pakistani batsmen. But the career-best 183.runs scored by Virat Kohli ensured that the team can chase the high total in a comfortable manner. India lose the wicket of Gouam Gambhir in the first over of the innings. But the partnership between Sachin Tendualkar and Kohli gave the right momentum to the innings.

Once Tendulkar got out at a personal score of 52, Rohit Sharma back complimented the Kohli by scoring. The two batsmen almost take the team onto the verge of a comfortable victory. The Indian captain hit the winning four runs to beat their archrivals by 6 wickets. However, the wonderful performance of the Indian batsmen will go in vain, if Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka during their upcoming encounter.

As of now, Pakistan has already reached the Asia Cup 2012 final with 9 points, irrespective of the embarrassing defeat against India. Sri Lanka has not own a single match in the tournament, but it can knock Bangladesh out of the tournament by winning their upcoming encounter. But the host will definitely play with a game plan to beat Sri Lanka and knock India out of the ongoing tournament.

Therefore, the fans of the Asian continent will eagerly watch the math between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to be held on Tuesday at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur. The Indian cricket fans will definitely pray for a Sri Lankan win to pave the way for an India-Pakistan final.
